OnScent is a premier innovator in fragrance solutions, blending scientific rigor and artistic vision. Following a merger led by The Riverside Company, they entered a typical PE environment with high growth expectations. This transition required a strategic partner capable of translating informal processes into a standardized, data-driven model that meets rigorous reporting and growth mandates.

The Challenge: Beyond Systems to Strategy

Following the acquisition, OnScent faced multiple challenges:

• Process Reengineering: The challenge of establishing new business processes and streamlining existing ones.

• Leadership Support: The need for additional technology ecosystem evolution oversight, given that the existing Executive team had an increasing breadth of responsibilities in other areas of the business.

• The “Success Tax”: As transaction volumes scaled to 7,300+ daily records, the potential for skyrocketing licensing costs threatened the ROI of their tech stack.

• Fragmented Vendor Landscape: The need to orchestrate multiple third-party providers into a single, cohesive ecosystem.

• Aggressive Value Engineering: We optimized their back office and financial processes as well as integration. By grouping transactions, we decreased throughput by 90%, directly reducing OnScent’s license burden and reclaiming operational budget.

• Resource & Business Continuity: Our team’s continuity has been a stabilizing force. By maintaining many of the same core experts since 2022, we preserved institutional knowledge through transitions, ensuring no loss of momentum.
