BioAgilytix is a leading bioanalytical clinical research organization (CRO) that provides the expertise of senior level scientists for large molecule bioanalysis projects in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. Located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, BioAgilytix supports the development of innovative therapeutic biologics and biosimilars.

The Challenges

Prior to engaging with Trajectory, BioAgilytix was leveraging Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel and legacy applications integrated in SalesForce to perform their budgeting, reporting and time-tracking functions.

Based on their success as one of the fasting-growing private companies in Research Triangle Park (an innovation hub in North Carolina consisting of approximately 190 companies with expertise in the fields of micro-electronics, telecommunications, biotechnology, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and environmental sciences), BioAgilytix secured investments from top partners to expand their offerings, to grow their scientific team, and to expand their Sales and Marketing departments. In response to their increasing needs due to the growing business, additional scientists, and financial reporting requirements, BioAgilytix decided to migrate to a financial software solution that would quickly and efficiently provide automated detailed reports including audit trails.

The Solution

  • Professional Services, Project Management, and time-tracking modules were implemented in order to effectively track the various projects and teams.
  • Out-of-the box and custom financial reports including enterprise-grade audit trail features were set-up to meet the reporting requirements in a transparent and efficient manner.
  • The project was executed using an agile methodology driven by BioAgilytix’s priorities and the availability of their team members in order to facilitate a successful implementation.

The Results

  • BioAgilytix’s sales and services teams are more coordinated and hence able to operate more efficiently.
  • Automation of several financial processes (i.e. WIP and deferred revenue), has allowed the Finance team to manage the growth in sales and projects without adding headcount.
  • NetSuite serves as an integrated and centralized system that allows for the effective management and tracking of projects, time and expenses.
